  2. (and also - I can see it's locked, I can see it's locked...but I still need to TOUCH it...)

  3. Someone's home alone. I do that all the time until I turn on a light and actually SEE that the lock is turned for all three doors. I also glance at the windows to make sure they're locked as well. Got the message through a simple story!

  4. My husband always goes back to check the door before we leave. I always tease him about it. :D

  5. But did you leave the iron or oven on?

  6. I like when you finally win over the urge to check the door and go to bed. Once you're all comfortable and warm the thought creeps back in "Am I really sure it was locked?" I always have to get up and make sure, just in case I missed it the first 50 times I checked.

  7. I'm the opposite. I wake up in the morning and realize I forgot to lock it, again.

  10. Apparently, you're my mom. But it usually involves making sure the coffee pot is off.

  11. I love that. Ours is a gas burner on low. You can't really see the flame and there exists no light. We have a gas detector so it is not that, rather it is when we go out that is worrysome!

    Neat play.

  13. thanks to all who wrote! this is actually me when I drive somewhere (like the mall or grocery store) and park the car. I KNOW logically that I locked the car door, but I have to check, and then I walk away and...................

really want to come back and check.

Because of course my car is FILLED to the roof with cash and gold and jewelry and priceless valueables that greedy thieves would want to steal, not filled with old milkshake containers and empty water bottles and crumpled up paper napkins from the drive-thru.

lock the door. repeat as necessary.

    best,

When you write a comment, it makes me feel like I won the lottery or at the very least like I ate an ice-cream sundae. (This has nothing to do with the fact that I did just eat an ice-cream sundae.)
